There may be a time when you are unable to complete a unit of competency (e.g. a unit or a subject which forms part of your course) – or you don’t pass an exam or assessment which you need to achieve your qualification.
If this happens, you have the option to repeat that part of your studies by re-enrolling in that particular unit and paying a fee. This fee is covers the costs of providing the re-assessment.
If you need to re-take an assessment as part of your course, you will need to pay a fee to cover the costs of the re-assessment. This cost is $120 for each repeat assessment, plus the cost of any materials and travel to provide the re-assessment you need.
Repeat Capstone / Integrated / Complex Assessments
A Capstone Assessment is a stand-alone assessment which tests specific trade-related performance capabilities. This type of assessment is used to determine your eligibility to receive a trade’s licence from the Department of Fair Trading.
If you don’t pass your Capstone Assessment, you will need to re-take it. The fee for re-taking a Capstone Assessment is $450, plus the cost of required materials and travel.
Repeat enrolment for ‘not yet competent’ unit of competency
If you don’t achieve ‘competency’ during a unit or subject in your course, you may need to re-take it. If this happens, get in contact with your Head Teacher to talk about the best time to do the unit again. They can also provide information on the fees you may need to pay to do so.
Repeat enrolment for withdrawn unit
If you start a unit of competency but have to withdraw part of the way into it, you may need re-do that unit. If this happens, get in contact with your Head Teacher to talk about the best time to re-take the unit and the fees you may need to pay to do so.
